Is Coral Calcium Tea As Good As Supplements?

by Lee Dobbins

Can you drink coral calcium tea and see the same benefits as a tradition calcium supplement? It would be nice, but unfortunately tea drinkers are only reaping about 2% of the nutrients in the coral. Most of the nutrients are dissolved in the tea's water.

When coral calcium is put into clean water there are both physical and chemical change that take place which are beneficial to your health. The alkalinity of the water goes up which make its pH level higher and help to balance the ph level of the body. The coral calcium also changes the an oxidation reduction potential of the water. However there is not enough of the coral sand in the tea bags to produce a rapid physico-chemical change. If the tea bag did produce these rapid change most likely they have been treated by adding other strong alkalinizing substances such as calcium hydroxide or other hydroxides or an oxide of alkaline metal.

It's OK to drink coral calcium tea, but if you really want to benefit from the minerals in coral calcium, you'll also have to take a supplement.

Many a times people who drink coral calcium tea are not even aware of the amount of coral calcium that is there in their drink. The estimate is that depending on the brand and the type of tea bag and capsule you would receive between ten and fifty times the mineral nutrients in a capsule as opposed to the tea.

The benefit of the tea or coral water is more of a type of homeopathic treatment. This treatment would include mineral enrichment as one key factor. Often when people drink coral calcium tea they experience relief from many of their aches and pain. This is due to the fact that the coral water contain an enough of the coral calcium and other mineral that their bodies needed at that time.

There are benefits associated with drinking coral calcium tea, however you should not stop taking your calcium supplements since this tea does not act as a replacement. Be sure to always buy your tea and supplements from a reputable source so you know you are getting a good quality product and don't forget to talk to your health care professional before taking any new supplements.
